Distribution research #1

The traditional distribution model for magazines include displaying your magazine in waiting rooms, coffee shops, and storefronts.

Using a waiting room for distribution is appropriate because in whether you're in a dentist waiting room, doctor waiting room, or hospital waiting room, people tend to get bored. Boredom happens because they take so long to call your name. So, in the meantime it would be convenient to grab a (my) magazine off of the table closest to you to and entertain yourself, until you're called.

Coffee shops are ideal for self-published magazines and people that hangout or go to a coffee shop are people who tend to be artsy and may be writers, journalists, or someone who would take a genuine liking into reading the magazine. So, distributing in a coffee shop is a good idea because it could potentially bring in a few new fans.

And lastly, the use of storefronts, can be helpful when distributing for magazines because its can be something for people to pick up on there way in or out of some of the stores they visit frequently, or you can stand outside of the store for about 2 hours and offer it the people as they arrive.

Marketing Plan

In the research I've done so far I noticed that many of the magazines marketed their product by using social media and business partnerships. On my topic (health and wellness), there weren't a lot of internet ads, billboards, print ads, or any other form of marketing done besides social media and business partnerships. With that being said, I will most likely do a social media post. I'll do a social media post because it's something that the people of my target audience and I both use on the daily basis-if not, then weekly. So it's convenient for the both of us. I think I'm going to us and Instagram post because it's one of the social medias, that I'm most familiar with and I've also seen other brands marketing their products on there.

This is the social media posts that i made on Instagram and as you can see there are a cool amount of likes and a couple of comments. The model even thought that i was going to be doing an actual exercise class and asked "how much are you charging". What i'm trying to get at, is that social media is a very effective method for marketing my magazine.

Revision #2- Picture Change

 Before

 After

Here, I tried to add more varied pictures, by including the chef on this page since it also goes with her quote that I used here. I did this because in the feedback I received, it came up several times that I needed to use have more varied pictures.

Target Audience Research #2

These are a couple of the posts that the "Office of women's health" have posted on their website to get people to go take surveys on them depending on what they want to improve about themselves, depending on their age and personal goals. They also use other federal partnerships to promote themselves (since this is a government agency). Some of the people they've partnered with in 2018 includes, but is not limited to: the CDC (center for disease control and prevention), the FDA (U.S. food and drug administration, women's health magazine and last but not least, CVS pharmacy's health.

Revision #1-Quote

AFTER
BEFORE

QUOTE:
One of my first revisions was making my quote smaller. With making my quote smaller it left a lot of white space, so i'll also need to go back and fill that in. So in the meantime, I put "coming soon" to signal that I will be adding to this submission.

Target Audience Research #1

My target audience:
- GEOGRAPHY:
Floridians in their early adulthood

- INCOME LEVEL:
Majority middle class

-EDUCATION LEVEL:
Secondary education level and up

WHO/AGE:
I want to help female teenagers and young adults who are struggling with their eating habits and weight loss techniques. I want to help those whose desire is to loose weight or eat healthier for their well being, and from a health perspective, not necessarily to look more attractive to guys and that sort of thing. I was going to do all genders but i don have representation of all genders so i'll stick to just female.

WHAT:
In my magazine the big problem my audience should want is to feel better mentally and physically after their journey, by accomplishing their own personal goals (personal affirmation).

WHERE:
Majority of these people can be found at the beach, panera bread, or lululemon.

WHAT:
Find something "short and easy to consume, quick to apply ant very outcome driven". A checklist of quick workouts, recipe guides, or smoothie ideas. So, that once they accomplish that goal they feel rejuvenated and want to buy more of your product (in this case: magazine).

Feedback/Revisions

From my feedback I learned that I need to have a wider picture variety. I can accomplish this by doing another photo shoot, with the same model in different clothes, completely different models, or by simply changing the location in order to get some appropriate picture variation. Other constructive criticism I received was about the quote on the second page of my 2 page layout. The quote was way too big and took up half the page, my colleagues suggested that I make it take up about 1/3 of the page instead. So, I plan to make revisions on my quote by making that a bit smaller and replacing that white space by adding more of the actual content of my magazine. Another thing I will do to revise my magazine is do another photo shoot, in a different location hopefully with different models. In the revised photo shoot I'll plan to get a picture of the head chef, from the quote i used, and get my models on some exercise equipment/ gym environment.
